available editing slots – please consider

Having conferred and arranged work with my regular clients for 2015, I find the following dates remain open and available, should you want to book my editing services:

July 22-31
September 2-30
October 12-31
December 11-22

Also, if you are desperate for something to be edited outside of these dates, please still try me, as I am an able juggler.

I am happy to work on fiction, non-fiction, blog posts, essays – wherever you would like help.

I still offer the FREE 1000 WORD SAMPLE EDIT, if you want to try me that way.

Looking ahead, I am willing to pencil in editing jobs for 2016, if you think you might have something requiring work by a certain time, or if you have a schedule for an ongoing series, for example, and know roughly when your first and final edits should be completed.

My rates for 2016 are likely to increase to £4 or $6 per 1000 words, but any work booked before July 2015 will be guaranteed 2015 rates of £3.33 or $5, so book early to save money.

Whatever your editing needs, please feel free to try me – I’m easy. 😮 😉

another new client

We are happy to announce that we will be working with Ernesto Pavan in July. Some of you may already know him from some helpful suggestions on Google+ or his

translation website

He has already had a couple of stories published here and here , so feel free to check them out.

As for Ernesto himself…  “I’m a crazy Italian who writes in English, loves Indian and Japanese food, and writes about weird stuff.

booking for July & beyond

Having seen how quickly my available editing slots filled up this last week, I thought it wise to announce that I am now happy to accept bookings for July 22* and beyond.

I  will consider any length, fiction or non-fiction, blogs or articles…

If you are ready to book, simply let me know your word count and preferred range of dates, and I will reply as soon as possible.

If you would rather take advantage of my free 1000 word sample edit before deciding, please forward that to me at economyedits@gmail.com with a short synopsis and full manuscript word count, and I will work on it and return as soon as possible, and you can see if we will be a good fit.

Despite suggestions from many that I should increase my fees, they remain as low as they were, despite my experience ever-improving my abilities. 🙂

I look forward to hearing from you soon, and working with you later.

🙂

* was originally July 11, but a new client has since been scheduled. 🙂

the most wonderful writers

I know I have said it before, but I will say it again…

I edit for the most wonderful writers. I really do. I feel truly blessed.

I sent them all an email today asking if they might have anything wanting an edit in January to April 2015, trying to gauge my schedule, and I already have the following pencil-booked:

2015

05/01-20/01 … MAL HoO 1st

21/01-31/01 … MBS 1st

02/02-14/02 … JEN v2 final

16/02-28/02 … REB/DS 2

02/03-14/03 … MAL HoO final

15/03-19/04 … ??

20/04-09/05 … MAL BF 1st

10/05-14/06 … ??

15/06-27/06 … REB DS 3

I don’t edit for others as much as I could, because I also like to write my own fiction. And I probably don’t charge as much as I could, but I’m still happy with my rates. The above will provide a liveable income, and possibly even help fund a dream holiday I would like to take to the USA around the end of March/early April. So things are looking decidedly rosy today, and it’s all thanks to these wonderful writers and their amazing imaginations. 🙂

2015 editing sessions now available

Plan ahead, and book your 2015 editing needs with me.

It is never too early to schedule those all-important first and final edits for your book, to give you and it that extra advantage in tomorrow’s active and competitive indie writer market.

Even if you are not yet ready to submit your work for editing, if you book a slot with me (time dependent on estimated manuscript length, as in a 60k novel perhaps two weeks) I will hold that window open for you. But then we will also be able to bring it forward or push it back as you require, if your needs or schedule changes. Once you are “in” you have that advantage.

My rates are low, but my work is of a high quality. Please read my testimonials, marvel at my rates, and consider me for your editing requirements. I have worked on fiction and non-fiction of all lengths, from a blog post or 100 word story up to a 900 page (275,000 word) novel.

Or submit a short sample for a free trial edit. 🙂

space for one book edit

Okay, I have space for one more book edit in November, and one in December.

This could be full-length fiction, a collection of shorts, something non-fiction, blog entries – whatever it is you have that you want edited.

And it’s first come, first served.

Although, if you are someone seeking assistance, I will try my very best to find a way to help you.

Try me. 🙂

what would you pay for editing?

As many of you know, I am an editor.

I work predominantly with independent writers (fiction, non-fiction & web content) because I want to help those I most identify with. You see, on my OTHER page I AM an indie writer. 🙂

I think my rates are excellent for the quality I provide, being just £3 or $5 per 1000 words.

However, because I want to be working AND helping, I have come up with an idea… YOU tell ME how much you would pay for my services, and we will see if we can progress from there?

Simply send me a 500-1000 word sample of your work, tell me the genre and target audience, and where it exists in the story (as in, opening, first half, second half, ending, etc.), and I will work through it as I would a fully-paid piece of work.

You then review it, see how you feel, and make your kindest offer regarding my fee per 1000 words, being a figure we can both respect, but that will still allow you to put bread on your table and electricity in your bulbs.

Like everyone, I have my minimum monthly income requirements, but if I can meet them each month AND provide some other help to even less financially able indie writers, then all the better. It will keep me out of trouble, and will give you a better chance of finding more readers. 🙂

Sounds like a plan? Then let’s do it.

Oh, and, if YOU don’t have anything to edit right now but you know someone who does, please poke them into trying me.

(And yes, if you follow my just1more blog you will have already seen the above. 😉 )

happy to edit your web/blog content

I will happily edit your web content, be it business or blog-based.

This is something I have been thinking about more and more recently, mostly because I was asked by one website, and I believe it is something I can help with, and at the same low rates.

So, for example, a blog entry of up to 1000 words would only cost you £3 or $5. And then the same for each subsequent 1000 words. So, if you posted a 700 word blog twice-weekly it would cost around £24 or $40 for the month.

And rather than PayPal invoice each individually, I would wait until the end of the month and bill just once on the 1st, with a detailed breakdown of what I worked on for you.

So, if you would like to try me for a month, please let me know.

Or, if you’d like to try me for just one blog post, to see how you feel, again, please let me know, either here or via email at economyedits at gmail dot com 🙂
